Curated by independent comparative literature scholar Dr. Sophia Basaldua-Sun, The Metropolitanist emerged from two related problems. First, in a society where work and money are ever present concerns, people were hungry for a cultural outlet. Yet, and second, they were reasonably wary of pursuing a formal humanities education. Seeking a way to make the humanities accessible to an audience searching for a cultural lifestyle rather than vocation, The Metropolitanist was born.
